I am a wife, a friend, a mother, a follower of Jesus, a doula, a cesarean surgery survivor, a neighbour, a partner, a cat person, a supporter, a lover, a daughter, a sister, and an artist. I love coffee, music, chocolate, the colour pink and peonies. I'm an opinionated, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, garden growing, aroma therapy-toting, granola-crunching urban hippie mama. I am madly, passionately in love with Jesus, my husband and my son. I live on a Reserve, love to read books, eat chocolate and knit. I love life, and I love YOU, so comment or email and lets be friends!
If you have met me, you know I have a lot to say. This blog is a place where I spout my opinions, share my thoughts and pictures from my life. You'll find that I talk a lot about things that I'm passionate about - supporting women, natural childbirth, breastfeeding, fostering, friendship, faith, the list goes on. . . .my aim is not only to share my thoughts, but also to begin dialog on important topics, so please, leave comments, let me know you're reading, agree with me, and of course, feel free to disagree with me!
Thanks for visiting!

"There is a secret in our culture. It is not that childbirth is painful, but that women are strong." - Laura Stavoe Harm
"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." - Thomas Paine
"Now - here is my secret: I tell it to you with an openness of heart that I doubt I shall ever achieve again, so I pray that you are in a quiet room as you hear these words. My secret is that I need God - that I am sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God to help me give, because I no longer seem to be capable of giving; to help me be kind, as I no longer seem capable of kindness; to help me love, as I seem beyond being able to love." - Douglas Coupland in "Life After God"
